Which are the different types of Cuban passports?

Sep 19 , 2023

A passport is a personal, non-transferable travel document required by any citizen who intends to move from one country to another. Some passports have greater scope than others, depending on the limitations imposed by each country on the entry of nationals of another country. The passport issued by the Republic of Cuba gives its citizens visa-free access to 59 countries in the world, and in any case it will always serve as a document of identification in the country where you are. Each country also has different types of passports, depending on where the traveller is coming from and the purpose of the trip. Currently, there are 5 types of Cuban passports, and each one has its own specific features and functions.

Below you will find a list of the types of Cuban passports and some information about them.

Regular passport

This is the best known Cuban passport, since this is the one required for most trips, whether they are for tourism, immigration or any other type of personal or family reasons.

Ordinary Cuban passport

Any Cuban, either from within or outside the national territory, can apply for it. In some cases citizens who have to travel abroad in the interests of the State or social or cultural organisations may receive it.
