The National Organization of Collective Law Offices (ONBC) of Cuba is the body providing legal services and procedures to natural persons with permanent residence on the island. All procedures handled by these offices are charged in local currency.
A new feature is the new fees currently active for these procedures. Details were published in PDF format by different media and official channels, with a total length of 40 pages. This amendment represents Resolution 321/2023 of the Ministry of Justice and was approved and signed on May 31 of this year.
According to the authorities, the new fees correspond to the current costs of performing each procedure.
The amounts specified shall be paid by the customer at the time of entering into the service contract, and will be specified in the document. Before performing any type of contract, the client is entitled to receive a free-of-charge query to learn about the procedures required, as well as the fees and rates.
New Prices, Generally
The procedures related to homeownership are the ones raising the most interest from users reacting to the news on social networks. The whole process of property management in this area has a fee of 990 pesos per representation, plus another 590 pesos for mediation, based on your needs.
Marriage rates and their consequences also changed. Nullity of marriage, for example, will now cost 990 Cuban pesos, the same as divorce with a request for withdrawal or suspension of parental responsibility. As for the separation or liquidation of assets of the marriage or common-law marriage, the cost can reach up to 3,000 pesos plus the representation and mediation costs.
Some disputes under the property rights section have a fee of Ps. 1,100 for representation and another Ps. 660 for mediation.
Claims arising from copyright will require a fee of approximately 3,000 pesos for representation and 1,800 pesos for mediation.
